3rd Annual 9/11 Memorial Ride

September 9, 2017

I love being able to be part of something bigger than myself! That is actually one of my life long personal goals. Continued service to other and my community holds a special place in my heart. Which is why I ALWAYS jump to the occasion to work with the American Legion Riders Post 54 (Chewelah, WA). When my dad (Director) told me about this event I couldn't turn down this opportunity! This is a ride that memorializes all those who served, those lost, and those continuing to serve this great country. What better way to get involved right?

Here is the press release written on the ride. It was honor to be among so many veterans who fought bravely so I can live the life I do in freedom! I can't wait until next year!

On September 9th, 2017 the American Legion Post 54 of Chewelah WA sponsored the 3rd Annual 9/11 Memorial Ride for Veterans. This ride consisted of 55 motorcycles that traveled approximately 165 miles. Starting in Colville, the first stop was at Beaver Lodge where we were welcomed with American Flags lining the Highway along with coffee and donuts laid out for us to enjoy! We then headed to Newport where we stopped to fuel up and got back on the road to Blancher, through Riverside, stopping at the Deer Park Eagles where we were welcomed with open arms once again. Then we headed back up north to the Chewelah Post 54 where there was a hot meal waiting for all us to enjoy as we relaxed and talked about the amazing ride we all just had. We all got the opportunity to talk about our days of service to our country in our various military experiences.

Here is a comprehensive list of American conflicts where the veterans on this ride served: WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Libya, Falkland Island, Operation Desert Fox, Operations Neptune Spear, Desert Storm, Desert Shield, Persian Gulf War, Somalian Civil war Intervention, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Invasion of Panama, Granada, and Honduras.  Many served in multiple American conflicts to protect our fine country. Our riders who served in WWII and the Korean War are pictured on the orange trike.

This ride was in honor of all those who served, continue to serve, and were lost on that tragic day in September 2001. The American Legion Riders of Chewelah and Colville thank all our veterans for your service as we continue to serve our country through service to our communities
